A Donor Advised Fund offers the greatest flexibility in directing your charitable giving. Each year, you recommend grants from your fund's distributable income, or from both income and capital depending on how you set up your fund, to CRA-registered charities that matter most to you.
Whether your interests are in Jewish life, education, healthcare, social services, Israel, the arts, or the environment, you remain in control of where your grants are directed. We can also help connect your philanthropic interests with opportunities locally, nationally, or in Israel.
How a Donor Advised Fund Works
Designated Funds
Support the organizations and causes you care about most.
Designated Funds provide ongoing support to specific organizations, charitable priorities, or areas of interest chosen by the donor. When you establish your fund, you decide where future grants will be directed, creating a dependable source of support for the causes that matter most to you.
We offer six kinds of designated funds:

Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment Funds (PACE)
A PACE fund helps ensure your support of the Federation Annual Campaign continues for generations to come. Through a bequest or other planned gift, the capital is invested in perpetuity, generating annual support for the Campaign year after year.

Lion of Judah Endowments (LOJE)
The Lion of Judah program recognizes women who make an annual commitment of $5,000 or more to the Federation Annual Campaign.
A Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) enables women to extend that commitment through a permanent endowment fund. Established through a bequest, cash gift, or other charitable vehicle, a LOJE helps ensure support for Jewish community life for generations to come.
A LOJE is created when a woman establishes a fund of $100,000 or more in her name to endow her annual Federation gift, creating an enduring expression of her values and philanthropy that will continue to benefit the community for generations to come.

Field of Interest Funds
Support a specific area or effort that is important to you. Field of Interest Funds can focus on priorities such as Jewish education, poverty relief, seniors' services, mental health, Israel experiences, or other charitable interests.

Women Endowment Fund
The Women’s Endowment Fund (WEF) supports programs and initiatives that improve the lives of women and children in our community. Through grants, the fund has helped provide rent subsidies for low-income families, outreach services for Jewish families beyond Vancouver, and access to early-childhood education.

Scholarships, Awards and Camperships
These funds help reduce financial barriers and recognize achievement, creating meaningful opportunities for children and young adults to participate in Jewish life. Through need and merit-based scholarships, awards, and camperships, they support education, leadership development, and transformative experiences such as Jewish summer camp, helping strengthen Jewish identity and community connections.
